Version: visibility-readiness-1. The main report is a quick checklist of public information that helps golfers plan a visit. It is separate from the deeper digital-presence pilot index.
| Quick check | Points |
|---|---|
| Tee-time booking | 20 |
| Rates and pricing | 15 |
| Contact information | 15 |
| Page title | 10 |
| Search description | 10 |
| Mobile viewport setting | 10 |
| An official social profile | 20 |
A verified course identity and a successful homepage check within 48 hours, with all six website signals inspectable, are required. Missing review ratings, social activity and internet mentions never block this score. A failed, stale or incomplete inspection receives “Check needed,” not zero. A successful inspection with no supported checks can receive zero: this means no checklist signals were found, not that the course is poor.
Booking, rates and contact receive points when detected in the homepage HTML or supported by an approved public link independently checked within 90 days. A social profile receives 20 points when a valid recognized profile is linked in the recent homepage observation, or independently verified within 45 days. Pending or stale supplied links do not count. Multiple profiles do not earn extra points. A verified supplied profile may not be linked from the website; the report shows this distinction. Link discovery does not test whether the external platform opens successfully. No posting-frequency, engagement or marketing-effectiveness claim is inferred.
Presence of a title or description does not prove its quality or Google search position. A viewport tag does not prove mobile usability. Points are transparent product rules, not an industry benchmark. Sources and observation dates remain available. The report prioritizes booking, rates and contact, and shows up to five initial actions. Supported checks can be rechecked after changes; supplied information must be verified before earning points.
Reviews, dated social activity, public mentions, structured data and local context remain available under “Explore deeper findings” or website details. They do not affect the quick score. The separate pilot index below retains its existing rules for supported comparisons and research.
Version: digital-presence-pilot-2. These transparent starting rules describe digital evidence, not overall golf-course quality, booking conversion or revenue. Weights and activity thresholds are product rules, not empirically validated industry benchmarks.
| Category | Weight | Evidence needed |
|---|---|---|
| Website evidence | 40% | A successful check within 48 hours, with all seven signals inspectable. Approved booking, rates and contact sources checked within 90 days can support those three items. |
| Review evidence | 35% | Two independently checked providers, at least 20 reviews in aggregate, observed within 90 days. |
| Social activity | 25% | Independently checked 30-day activity metrics, observed within 45 days. |
Each supported item receives equal weight: page title, description, viewport tag, booking link, contact link, rates link, and golf structured data. For booking, contact and rates, an independently verified public link can supply evidence when the homepage scan misses it. The report keeps the HTML-only score and source-specific findings separate. Pending, rejected, removed or older-than-90-day verifications do not earn points. Title, description, viewport and structured data still require HTML detection. A missing signal can reflect JavaScript or another page.
Source ratings are normalized to 100 and weighted by each source's review count. The latest observation per provider is used; known Google, Tripadvisor and Yelp aliases are combined. Reviewers can overlap across platforms. Administrator-entered summaries are labeled separately from automated data connections.
For each supported source: 25 points for a profile linked from the official website or independently verified within 45 days; up to 50 points for four posts over 30 days; and 25 points for measured interactions above zero. Supported source scores are averaged. Verified profile links alone do not produce an activity score. Checked posting and interaction metrics are required. This diagnostic is not an engagement-rate comparison against competitors.
Missing, unverified or outdated evidence receives no score. The combined index stays unavailable until all three categories are supported. Coverage is the sum of weights for supported categories. No overall course grade or revenue forecast is inferred.
The optional deeper findings retain this separate scoring rubric. It separates confirmed HTML observations, business improvement suggestions and tasks to collect missing evidence. The seven-check legacy website diagnostic is separate from the main Visibility & Readiness Score and its six website checks plus social presence. Scenario values are recalculated with the named missing website signal set to detected, leaving current review and social inputs unchanged. They illustrate the rubric, not a promised score increase. Rounded individual point changes must not be added together.
Approved course users can add official social profile links and public mention URLs from their course profile. Supplied links are labeled separately from links discovered on the website. A configured public-web search can collect candidates from the past 90 days; every candidate needs an administrator to check course identity, independence and original publication date. Reports show checked summaries, source links and themes. Public mentions inform improvement steps and remain excluded from the numeric pilot score. Searches cannot cover private, deleted or unindexed posts, and finding no sources is not a poor score. Numeric review summaries do not establish complaint themes; links to social profiles do not establish engagement. The fictional sample report is marked throughout and is separate from production course records.
Verified course users can add missing links or corrections directly beside report findings. Supplied details show their review status. Current approved booking, rates and contact links count toward website evidence without claiming they appear on the homepage. Other supplied fields do not override HTML detection. Administrators can explicitly verify a source when saving or verify an existing pending entry from the report. Owners cannot self-approve. Saving and verifying recalculates the report immediately. Regenerate performs a fresh homepage scan for authorized course users; automatic public scans may reuse recent results.
Directory locations support nearby or same-city candidates. Matching website and street-address records are grouped. Records sharing the subject website are excluded only when their address matches or their mapped location is within 750 meters; a shared website alone does not establish a duplicate facility. Unverified directory candidates do not receive performance ranks.
A relative pilot digital-presence position is shown only when the subject and at least three verified comparison courses have complete indices under the same rubric. Partial category evidence does not establish an overall competitive rank.
When connected, approved course users can request a live Google rating and review-count summary. This does not retrieve the full review history. Live Google content is displayed separately with attribution and is not stored in the CourseVantage database.
